BEAM AND BLOCK
Beam and block is a flooring system composed of pre-stressed concrete beams with standard building blocks laid between the beams. Together with the split course and professional fixing, this provides a comprehensive flooring package.
From just the supply of beams, to a complete structural floor, our clients only need to select the elements that meet their requirements.
Beams are pre-stressed and available in three profiles, all designed in accordance with Eurocode (EC2) using grade C60N concrete and a cover for reinforcement to satisfy moderate exposure conditions. Pre-stressed beams are manufactured on standard lengths of 50mm increments.

Manufactured at our Lound facility, Oranmore Beam and Block floor beams are available in three profile widths.
Oranmore Precast's beam and block flooring is a highly efficient and reliable solution for large residential and commercial construction projects.
With two beam widths available, our precast concrete floor beams provide exceptional structural support. Importantly, our wide beams provide 1 hour fire resistance.

155mm Standard Beam - Spans up to 6000mm (30mins fire resistance)
155mm Wide Beam - Spans up 7000mm (60mins fire resistance)
225mm Standard Beam - Spans up to 7000mm (60 mins fire resistance)
The installation process is quick and easy, saving valuable time during construction. Beam and block flooring offers excellent thermal insulation properties, ensuring energy efficiency and reducing heat loss. Additionally, its outstanding sound reduction capabilities contribute to creating a quiet and comfortable environment.

Our 155mm wide beam for upper floors redefines construction standards by effortlessly combining strength and fire resistance.
Installation
The installation process of beam and block flooring is straightforward and can be completed in a relatively short amount of time. First, the site is excavated, and foundations are constructed. Then, the prestressed concrete beams are laid at regular intervals across the foundation. Once the beams are in place, the concrete blocks are laid between them and are held in place by their own weight.
The blocks can be cut to size to fit around obstacles and to create a level surface. Once the blocks are in place, the floor is grouted using a sand/cement mix to create a monolithic surface. Then floor finishes are applied to the developers’ requirements.
