We’re bringing our extensive precast concrete manufacturing experience and 30 years’ of precast concrete expertise to the Beam and Block flooring market.
Oranmore Precast is now manufacturing standard and wide floor beams from our Lound facility, with capacity to produce over 1000 Tonnes per week, with addition capacity available when the market conditions and demand requires this.
Oranmore beam and block flooring is made up of prestressed concrete beams that are placed at regular intervals, with concrete blocks spanning between them. The blocks are laid between the beams and are held in place by their own weight. The system is easy to install and requires minimal skill compared to other flooring options, making it a popular choice for many construction projects.
Michael Longley Beam and Block Manager commented “I’m delighted to bring my own experience of beam and block flooring to Oranmore Precast. Our standard and wide beams are ideal for commercial and residential large-scale projects, and with capacity to produce over 1000T of beam and block flooring a week we can facilitate large contracts, quickly. The team is excited to bring this new product to the market.”
Benefits of Oranmore Precast Beam and Block Flooring
Durable
Beam and block flooring is known for its durability. Concrete is a strong and robust material that can withstand heavy loads and is resistant to wear and tear. Beam and block flooring is no exception, and it can last for many years without needing repair or replacement. It’s a long-term investment that can provide a stable and reliable foundation for any building.
Fire resistant
Another benefit of beam and block flooring is its fire-resistant properties. Concrete is a non-combustible material that does not emit smoke or toxic fumes when exposed to fire. This makes beam and block flooring an excellent choice for buildings that require an extra level of safety, such as hospitals, schools, and other public buildings. Our wide beam is fire rated up to 60 mins without any additional floor finishes.
Thermal endurance
Beam and block flooring also has good thermal properties. Concrete has a high thermal mass, which means it can absorb and store heat. This helps to regulate the temperature of a building, reducing energy costs and increasing energy efficiency. Additionally, the system can be combined with insulation materials to further enhance its thermal properties.
Sound Insulation
Sound insulation is another advantage of beam and block flooring. Concrete has excellent sound insulation properties, which means it can help to reduce noise transmission between floors. This makes it an ideal option for buildings that require a high level of acoustic insulation, such as music studios, cinemas, and apartments.
Cost effective
In terms of cost-effectiveness, beam and block flooring is a competitive option compared to other flooring options, particularly for large-scale projects. The system is easy to install, requires minimal labour, and has a long lifespan, making it a cost-effective investment in the long run.
